I’ve always been a person who dates with a purpose, no matter how young or old I was. From the start, I’ve believed that relationships should be more than just a whirlwind of passion; they should be building towards something meaningful. So when I found myself in a relationship that felt like it might be getting serious, I knew it was time to have the tough conversations to make sure that person was ready for what they pretended or claimed they wanted.

These weren’t just casual chats about favorite movies or weekend plans; they were deep, sometimes uncomfortable discussions that test a relationship. And trust me, many folded under the pressure. Others simply disappeared, not wanting to face the reality that comes with real commitment. But I never saw their retreat as a loss. It was the opposite — it let me know that my curious line of questioning was doing exactly what I needed it to do: weed out those who weren’t really ready, those who were just lusting, those who were simply infatuated.
